The CCA San Diego team is excited to hold this summer camp to expose physics to young students well before they learn it in school. We aim to teach advanced topics that will challenge the students of this camp and encourage them to develop a better understanding of how physics is present in everyday life.

Summer Hours The Physics and Physical Sciences Camp will start June 19th and end June 23rd. More sessions may be opened up to accommodate students. Class sessions will start at 9:00am and end at 2:00pm, totaling 5 hours of fun every day!
Camp Curriculum Brief Overview
Introduce students to concepts of physics and physical sciences, some of which include:
Kinematics and projectile motion
Conservation of energy and momentum
Forces and free body diagrams
Electricity, magnetism, and circuits
Fluids dynamics
Waves and basic nuclear/quantum physics
Simple harmonic motion
Thermodynamics
Astrophysics
Applications of physics to cell biology and groundwater contamination/remediation
This week-long camp includes fun labs that explore the concepts above, such as using kinematics and forces to calculate where a ball will land, building basic circuits and experimentally verifying Ohm's Law, and exploring properties of fluids. There will also be a week-long egg drop project!
Daily Outline
9:00am - Camp check-in and icebreakers
9:30am - Lessons on concepts + activities
10:30am - Brief snack break
10:50am - Continuation of lessons
